Tuned Mass Damper (TMD)

Product Description

The Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) consists of a mass (usually a concrete block), coil springs and oil dampers. By changing the size of the mass and stiffness of the spring, the vibration frequency of the TMD can be adjusted to simulate the inherent frequency of the main structure.

When forced vibration of the main structure arises, the TMD can move together with the main structure and thereby transfer the vibration energy of the main structure to the TMD. Oil dampers dissipate the occurring energy and anti-vibration is achieved.
